• Using special tools, paintless dent repair technicians place the tools on the inside of the body of the car and gently maneuver the body back to its original state. Some panels may be removed to allow technicians easier access to the area behind the dent.

Candidates

• Candidates for paintless dent repair include virtually any motor vehicle like cars, trucks, sports utility vehicles, golf carts and even some motorcycles. Additionally, vehicles with shallow dents are ideal, while extremely deep dents are not repairable using this method, as the risk of creases and paint chipping increases.

Advantages

• Paintless dent repair is extremely cost effective compared to other methods of dent repair. Since the process does not use any repainting of the vehicle, risks of color mismatch is eliminated. Additionally, unlike traditional dent repair, the process only takes a few hours versus several days.

Disadvantages

• Although paintless dent repair has advantages, it also has downsides. All dents can not be repaired like those with paint chipping or deep dents. Moreover, dents that are located near panel seams are also unrepairable.
